National Zoological Park

A leader in animal care, science, education, and sustainability, the National Zoological Park is home to approximately 2,000 animals representing nearly 400 species, of which about a quarter are endangered. The National Zoo welcomes the public at its 163-acre site in Washington, DC's Rock Creek Park. It also operates the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute dedicated to endangered species research in Front Royal, Virginia.
